Who?

Every child is an artist
The problem is how to remain an artist
once he grows up.

I collect embellishments and am not afraid to use them!

Welcome to my journey back to my creative self.
MY STUFF: I love sharing memories &  handmade creations with friends and family.  I love textile arts: Quilts to Scrapbooks and anything in between! In addition to education I have studied Graphic Design & Fine Arts....
I appreciate the unique results the combination art quilts brings. I prefer fine fabrics, including an enthusiasm for batiks. I have been known to enjoy changing the surface of a fabric in some way. I enjoy creating dyed or painted fabric, I have used several different techniques such as stamping, painting, and discharging. I strive to fill my creations with hand-made details, using fibers and embellishments in each piece....
MY BIGGEST CHALLENGE IS FINDING TIME!
...Time is merely a guideline, really ...

My 'Stuff' ~ SOME My favorite things to create are mixed media photo pieces & paper-crafting. I also like to play and experiment with a variety of textile media, currently merging interests of textile with a fascination in book arts. By using stamps, ink and paints on paper and fabric, into altered books, visual journals, and scrapbooks ~~ exploring unlimited potential of combining interests, finding inspiration all around! ...

ME:  I grew up in the Midwest, a product of the 60’s ~ with a Mom who'd sew and bake. My Grandpa would putz in his garden; Grandma canned anything within reach. {ever heard of pickled peaches??? ~ weird! it's an acquired taste} Grandpa crafted. Their aptitude for Craftsmanship has been influenced through generations. Being the youngest of four,  my fondest memories are of eagerly “observing” when my oldest sister was studying art. ~ I was overjoyed when I received REAL art supplies as a young birthday gift! Even after being awed by SPIN ART which inspired me to flush her make up down the toilet!!! ...
Growing up in the 70’s I was fascinated with embroidery. My First quilt, a simple 9-patch pillow, was created in 'Home Ec'; . Later it is no surprise that in the 80’s I was drawn to a man who loves wood crafting and gardening. In the 90’s, when not teaching, as a young mother I became an extreme fabric collector attempting to quilt and alter fabric every chance I could. yes, my husband let's me have all the fabric i can HIDE ... (he even has some of his own!)  ...
